'The Electric' was designed in 1885 by W. Wykes of Colmore Row for John Glew, as a furniture warehouse known as the Birmingham Pantechnicon. In 1909 the building was adapted to become Birmingham's first cinema. Its still there 115yrs later. @Glenbrookprop want it gone for flats.

Damn right we're hopeful. Three Grade II @HistoricEngland listed buildings in 100m. We hope The Electric will join'em. @Glenbrookprop didn't expect this fight when they pounced on The Electric, wanting to demolish a Brum icon. But Brummies bite back! 🦁 https://t.co/Ve8iDjSzYA
