i appreciate the concept, i just wish the execution had been more dynamic and emotionally engaging. i wasn’t really able to connect with it.

it’s a clever commentary on politics and how people project their own agendas, perceptions and desires into ambiguity or silence itself. how ridiculous our societal conjunctures are proven to be at the face of the simplicity of a figure that had not been molded into them.

week 2 🪴 being there (1979), dir. hal ashby ★ 2.5 it has gorgeous visuals. something about the late seventies. the pacing on this one was almost too slow for me and i didn’t find the script particularly captivating. i somewhat enjoyed the last fifty minutes, though. +

let me also say that i genuinely haven’t seen or heard anything about her being harassed or stalked online, and that i don’t believe anyone involved would do such thing. if it’s true, i don’t condone it and i’m sorry it happened. but don’t try to deflect your guilt into this.

all this talk about “reflecting and growing” and none of those involved got a single personal apology. you know what i got instead? a anonymous gimmick calling me a “bully” two days ago. there’s no growth, just performance.

instead, you both ignored it, sent blind followers to defend you like some kind of cult leaders, and continue to play the victim to this day. you even went so far as to claim that the fandom hates latinos. no, we just hate bullies.

there was no “witch hunt”. there was the truth being exposed after your friend tried to gaslight people and both of you simply being held accountable. and it would’ve never gotten to that point if you had actually “owned up to it” and apologized.

to cherry, anyone can see what you’re doing. if you were actually sorry, you’d reach out to apologize to those you hurt instead of victimizing and guilt tripping. inviting people to “grow” while blocking them so you can keep twisting the narrative and manipulating others. weird.
