Why aren't more rappers speaking out? We are in an unprecedented era of change and social revolution, but most of them are mute.

@chuckcreekmur Those that should, will. A great many are better off keeping quiet since they canโ€™t put a proper 16 bars together, so you can expect them to put together a well-informed opinion. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพโ€โ™‚๏ธ

@Aqua174 No, I definitely agree and have said it on record. But, I think some could do better, be better. ๐Ÿ˜

@chuckcreekmur rappers , athletes, and people of color dont speak out because they have no knowledge and sense of self

@AaronNickey Not necessarily true. Itโ€™s the same reason people in corporate settings are mute. They know. They also know the repercussions are dire.

@chuckcreekmur They scared. More now than ever. Cancel culture. Alternative lifestyles are huge now. Integrating into the culture. Dudes have a lot to say when the light ainโ€™t on them. Turn the lights on they are quiet donโ€™t want to be trending for the wrong reasons

@chuckcreekmur Probably not comfortable on addressing issues. Rappers of previous eras may not have been as well-read either but still had an opinion

@chuckcreekmur We just have to admit that its not for everybody. Some people have got that mindset. For others its takes time to grow. Some may never have it at all. Its not just about speaking and being a voice but being the right voice that can actually bring change

@chuckcreekmur Similarly, we are also in an era of unprecedented wealth caused by a digital revolution that young rappers have benefited from that are disconnected from social change. The young rappers in the 80s (KRS/Chuck D) felt the closeness of the 70s and 60s backdrop of racial divide.

@chuckcreekmur Maybe they donโ€™t wanna say anything cause it might affect their pockets. But morals should be ahead of anything else because money can always be made.
