Should I just make my app free?. The app store is extremely competitive and I don't plan to spend any money on ads. If its free, I'll surely pick up users right?.

SwiftData woes. Today we learned that you cant specify @Relationship on the inverse, even though the examples online say we can (and should). Thanks @apple, I love shooting myself in the foot.

[PS - I'm new to Swift].SwiftData’s relationship model is a slap in the face to anyone who’s ever written SQL. I get it. Apple wants 'Swift magic', but forcing me to abandon decades of ID-based relations feels like making a chef cook with blunt knives.

My sister downloaded my app, it crashed - and she hasn't opened up since. First impression matter, even to family.

The Worst phase in product development?. MMP.Minimum marketable product. Really shows you how far away your MVP was from reality. Getting it wrong here can sink your entire investment. Get more eyes on it, public BETA test. Validate the market, again!.

Beta testing is going good, I'd rather be shipping, but getting great feedback. I made a template in Gimp to create app store screenshots. If there's any interest I'll throw it up on github.

My first beta tester messaged me asking when the app would be done, checked testflight and found out the app crashed for them. Culprit was CloudKit - I just added the capability without testing - bad idea :(.Cloudkit wrecked the db, so they have to delete the app and reinstall.

Planned to open Beta testing on Monday, my first/sole beta tester had a lot of good observations and found some crash scenarios - which I since fixed. So never got around to work on marketing stuff this week.

MVP is done!. It’s eye-opening how many crashes only show up once users get their hands on it. Now begins the real work: debugging, fixing edge cases, and wrangling the unexpected.

I decided to hold off on releasing my app to MVP testers. Everyone is on vacation this week, and I fell a bit behind anyway - its been a busy week, and I'm losing steam. Now I need to show folks my app, this what a stripper must feel like before her first show.
