So many people responding to this don’t realizing they started life on base.
Such an American bias comes out when people respond to these things.
There’s a reason so many successful companies are started in America and not Ecuador or Moldova.

Do you think entrepreneurship involves more variables than a simple dart game?
How rich are we talking when we say rich kids get to “try over and over again until they hit something and feel good about themselves”?
@chrisxmunn
It makes me feel like I'm not good enough as an entrepreneur because I am truly bootstrapped. No family money, sweat equity, or support. First to go to college and first to start a business. All my network and resources had to build over the years.
@chrisxmunn
The concept is valid. As a poor kid I saw the rich kids get far more shots, proverbial instruction manuals, introductions, and cheat codes the poor kids don’t get or know about.
But the hungry poor kid has his own superpowers they use regularly. But it is much harder for them.
@JohnPGavin
Yes…the poor kid is often a beast on the inside. That’s a Hunter that can’t be taught.
Will society ever recognize that is their challenge. Gotta be undeniable.
@chrisxmunn
In a sense this can also apply to your typical college education / w2 job. Kids who get to enjoy SAT tutoring and not have to work a job at age 16 are at an advantage.

If you’re broke, that’s how you start
For example… chatted recently with a lady that owns a cleaning service.
She came from Poland and started out using all her customer’s…

My path started as a sub contractor with a minimal investment in tools and vehicle.
I had for all intents and purposes 0 dollars. I actually slept in my truck a fair amount of time.
I then copied what the company I worked for was doing. In ten years I went from low $40,000 in…
@chrisxmunn
The poor kid works the carnival, takes notes, measures engagement, surveys customers for improvements
then makes a killing creating a new game that rich and middle class kids will pay them to play.
That’s the rags to riches I like to see
If you’re a starting entrepreneur, your first business should cash flow.
Then you can go big.
A particular type of small business is perfect for this:
“Nice Life Businesses.”
Here are my favorite 7 examples of them:
