A little while ago I wrote an essay about @NoahKahan, winter, and some things I’ve learned from my northern friends — incredibly excited to say that essay is out in the world now via the lovely northerners at @cogwbur🌞 give it a read! stay warm!

The devastation in our region is unfathomable. People are suffering and in desperate need. Please donate what you can to these mutual aid efforts across the region. A 🧵:

It's the midwest! It's campfire! It's the sufjan dance musical and I wrote about it and interviewed the people who made it! Ahhhhh!

For my nerds, I wrote about our choir director in chief for @cogwbur

Jacob Collier's music isn't easy to understand, writes Chris Ritter. But to be nerdy isn’t so much to know things as it is to be excited about the possibilities that lie behind the things you don’t...

We are rapidly normalizing meeting peaceful assembly with police force on college campuses. This is a genie that will not go easily back into the bottle. The slope couldn’t be slipperier. We are in a brave new world in higher ed, and anyone who doesn’t see it is delusional.

Today in @thenation we have a piece by Lujayn, a 14-year-old girl in Gaza, that has floored me every time I've read it. It's about what happened when an Israeli bulldozer came to destroy the house she was staying in, and you must, must, must read it.

WATCH: @EmoryUniversity Econ Professor @CarolineFohlin saw a protester on campus being violently arrested, and asked the police "What are you doing?" — then was violently thrown to the ground and arrested herself. Sickening. https://t.co/N1m2nvuWVm

This one's really special. I owe truly so much to the people who surf in this place, and to tell the stories of some of them — from my time there and beyond — is a privilege beyond words. Thrilled I got to do that here for the bowdoin mag. Will never stop thanking you all🌊
In his story about Bowdoin surfers over generations, Chris Ritter ’21 describes what happens in the cold Maine waters: a sense of being both a part of and apart from the world, in a moving meditation built on taking, receiving, and riding the waves.

If theres one thing about me its that I will always do these and I will always cheat
No cheating - your Quietus style Bakers Dozen. 13 albums (off the top of your head) to know you by. Not looking for a perfect list, looking for a list that you instantly regret posting because you then remember something else.

Anywho, freelancing has been a ride so far. Thank you to my very cool friends who edit my very bad drafts, to the 0.001% of editors who respond to me, and to any of you who read a thing I wrote. The triumphs, the defeats, the epic highs and lows — it was all worth it:)
