Really honoured by this Emmy award. The story of how Europe is outsourcing its border policy – and human suffering – to Libya is shameful. It shouldn't be left to NGOs like @msf to fill the gap. But @edouphoto also captured the hope on the boat - he truly deserves this @newsemmys
We're thrilled that the Guardian Documentaries release 'Get Away from the Target' has won Outstanding Crime & Justice Coverage at the @newsemmys. Congratulations @edouphoto @willnmiller @chrismichaelgdn @lindsay_poulton @JesscatGormley @katya_ochagavia & The Outlaw Ocean Project

I wrote about why the UK riots are different to 2011

The 2011 London riots were mostly about people feeling they weren’t getting a fair shake. The 2024 incarnation is another thing entirely: a racist mob

The first winner of the Shackleton Medal for the Protection of the Polar Regions, @HeidiSevestre, played a prominent role in this remarkable Nat Geo documentary #ArcticAscent. It's great to see her continue the inspirational work that won her the award.

@LeylandCecco I love how the question of "But why" never occurs to them. It's just self-evident that they need to learn everything they can about it

I hope people check out this story I've been working on for a long time w @laurapaddison. It's about a US mining firm that sued Mexico for protecting its own ocean – using a shady process called ISDS, which punishes govts that dare pass environmental laws https://t.co/8mh6z6ZV90
