@BethChit @sdi_net @Shack_dwellers @shemuganyi @dialogueonshel1 @Uni_Stuttgart ACRC’s CEO @DianaMitlin notes two key challenges of collaborations between academia and communities: 1️⃣ Ensuring inclusivity 2️⃣ Understanding local contexts She stresses the need for an honest conversation about what communities and academics each bring to knowledge processes.

I’ve been lucky to learn the power of community through teaching collaborations with @Wanavijiji_sdi and @CommSaversCLASS. This has been a big motivation behind launching @OWT_UK last year. Delighted to be featured by @IIED in their blog this week!

Great to see this recognition of @DianaMitlin's work. It really is an excellent paper (even for non-academics!) that highlights the practical potential of broad urban reform coalitions, and details a range of examples (that Diana has been involved with over the years)🙌

Great to catch up with so many @AfricanCities_ researchers at #DSA2024 last week - and really interesting to attend both the panels they convened. The @SOAS cookies were excellent too! 🍪 This is my brief summary of the discussions: https://t.co/8OrniyXzwO

98.9% of Africa’s vaccine supply is produced outside of Africa. 💉 But after COVID, African leaders set a target to produce 60% of Africa’s vaccines in Africa by 2040. That's at least 1.5 billion doses annually to meet that target. That’s 73 times more than what is currently

At 4pm you'll be able to take a break from #DSA2024, grab some tea and meet publishers and institutes who have stands in Senate House. Who wouldn't want to spend time talking to the fun folk from @GlobalDevInst who have #OpenAcess titles and free bookmarks?!
