I can't help but feel at some point we could stop budget secrecy and 'fiscal' events and do actual proper public consultation on new rules and policies and get decent scrutiny on the data used to justify them.

For the record I didn’t. Telling someone who was forced to give up cycling for medical reasons to tour Europe by ‘Brompton’ so they can ‘learn’ is ableist in the extreme. I do however object to people pushing active travel example with far less public transport provision.

Just came across this in a government consultation ‘a lack of certainty is not grounds to avoid carefully considered statutory intervention’ … not knowing what is going on is indeed a reason to avoid statutory intervention which by definition can’t be carefully considered.

NEW: We've taken action against Lewisham Council for failing to respond to hundreds of Freedom of Information requests. At the end of 2022 the Council had: 👉338 overdue requests for information, 👉221 requests over 12 months old, 👉requests in their backlog from December 2020

Why is it that my pet insurance works with a simple hand over of a policy number to my vet yet my one stop time saving car/legal/house insurance can only communicate in a half a dozen incomplete and ambiguous pdfs with no cross references and repetitive questions?
