My main social media site is Bluesky. Let's follow each other there! https://t.co/7VqlgGzWoA I cross-post to Twitter/Threads for those of you still there (no longer spend time scrolling, replying, or liking things; no need to generate more revenue for those terrible oligarchs).

Is it clear to anyone else that he has no plans of ever leaving the White House? Also, he is slowly making it over to look like one of his gaudy casino hotels. 🤮 Remember, it's not his house. It's our house (and he just gets to live there).

Are you a high school U.S. history teacher in South Carolina? We are looking for participants for a study on the teaching of right wing movements. Would only involve 1-2 interviews. Sign up here: https://t.co/eQIPv5QekO

Continuing decline in students going through teacher preparation programs should alarm everyone. I use to say it was the canary in the coalmine, but we are entering the "5 alarm fire" phase. Not sure who will teach the children, if there are no teachers? https://t.co/v1aRijl783

I hope the Dems will use this new imperial presidency to give everyone single-payer health care, free public higher education, and universal basic income. Sadly, I'm not sure they'll have a chance (free & fair elections are at risk) or they have the guts.

And a point of disagreement with the Times here. Ethnic studies is not an "activist discipline" (that is not a thing), but an academic discipline like any other. Many universities in the U.S. and elsewhere have Black, Asian American, Native, or Latino studies departments.

With my colleagues Kaylene Stevens and Erin Fife, our research has documented how at the state level these censorship campaigns hurt students and what teachers are doing to resist. Can offer a way forward for all teachers. https://t.co/ybT8pyzJUX

There is a serious silencing campaign on teaching honest histories (perpetrated by federal officials). Important that the NY Times is covering this (great quote from @adamlaats), but all educators must be aware and push back for our students and nation. https://t.co/s1T1y0Pqib

The Boston Public Schools are trying reverse important changes that made exam school admission more equitable. Please sign this petition (especially if you are a BPS parent) to demand any changes be transparent, with community input, and care - not rushed. https://t.co/w5jsj0vvbg

"It was precisely because Native societies mirrored some of the colonists’ own ideals (autonomy, law, liberty) that they had to be cast as savages." Important read from Ned Blackhawk on Native people and the American Revolution.

Elbows up Canada! The resistance in the U.S. appreciates what you're doing (even if we don't love Doug Ford). Keep reminding Trump and the GOP that Reagan would think they are insane.

A sign that the United States is in real trouble. The New York Times is running an infographic so you know which federal agency is invading your neighborhood.

Social studies teachers: Are you using Trump-related protest music in your classes? If so, how? Do you think the current protest songs will be in the curriculum like those from the Vietnam War or Civil Rights eras? In what other units do you include protest music? #sschat

Has plans to reopen the government or fix health care funding issues? No. Has plans to enrich himself with $230 million of your taxpayer dollars? Yes. Americans love a con man.
