Please feel free to disagree because I'm not sure my interpretation is right. 😉

Picture an inbox with a list of messages. They tend to be ordered by date but can be read in any order. Now think of messages in a conversation. These make no sense out of sequence. I'd use a <ul> tag for the former and an <ol> tag for the latter. Agree? #HTML #HTML5

I don't think learning code syntax is important. If you know there's a way of doing it, e.g. we'll filter the list to these items, you can always look that up. The more transferable problem solving skills are more important. #code #coding #CodeNewbies #CodeNewbie

"There's no 'i' in team." You're never going to motivate a team by lazily regurgitating tired old sayings. I also disagree with the sentiment of suppressing personal ambition. Teamwork is about helping each other be better, not holding back.

I can't get excited by DevOps. I just see it as admin. I'm so grateful that others are into it though. I enjoy writing documentation, which is a massive bore for many people. We're all different and that's a strength. Don't feel like you *should* like something you don't.

I just completed this Developer Economics survey. The more of us that do it, the more worthwhile it will be. Please consider completing it too so we can all benefit from a more accurate picture of our industry. https://t.co/r1gtjgFskB

When I tweet about web tech I do worry I sometimes sound like a veteran from the browser wars. "You weren't there, man. We had to use floats for layout." #webdev #webdevelopment #webdesign

Just to elaborate, my thinking with the second flow is that the user gets to see the item disappear, which I like as an idea. Also, by reloading the list view in its previous state, there's no need to reload data, it can be instant and then run the animation.

Which user flow is nicer? Does the 2nd pose any problems? 1. list view > details view [delete item] > list view (item has gone) 2. list view > details view [delete item] > list view (item is shown at first but then disappears with an animation) #ux #uxdesign #ui #uidesign

Is building a Single Page App with a JavaScript framework actually any better than using server rendered pages? I'm starting to feel that all the extra page weight and processing that comes with a framework is slowly creating a divide between high powered and low powered devices.

WordPress devs, is there such a thing as a boilerplate theme? I really want just the PHP pages doing the functional stuff with as little layout and styling as possible so I can make my own. I do not want 100 divs and certainly no JavaScript. Does such a thing exist? #WordPress

New blog post: Reasons for Developers to Have a Blog https://t.co/kr8DyTDtpM If you're a new dev I'd definitely recommend having your own blog and this post explains why. #100DaysOfCode #CodeNewbies #CodeNewbie #webdevelopment #webdev

I do like the Muted Words feature on Twitter. I've just added "jif", "tabs or spaces" and "is HTML a programming language". Tired subjects. Any others?

I'm thinking about filtering out tweets that contain the word "followers". Half my stream seems to be people reaching or close to arbitrary milestones. 🙈

Instead of using the #CSS display:none to hide an element, consider using the 'hidden' attribute. Controlling this from the #HTML rather than the #CSS means it's content rather than presentation. In terms of resilience, it will still take effect even if your #CSS fails to load.

Tip: Don't use <a href="#"> for actions. Just use a button. You can style it as a link if you want to. It'll save you a whole load of problems down the line. #HTML #a11y #webdev #FrontEnd
