As part of our ongoing commitment to safety, we do all we can to reduce collisions, prevent injuries and deaths, and protect the Antelope Valley community from the dangers of speeding and reckless driving.

For the past two days, CHP Antelope Valley conducted a special enforcement detail focused on speed prevention, education, and enforcement along State Route 138, a corridor known for serious crashes. Nearly 100 citations were issued during the operation.

The CHP Antelope Valley Area has recently responded to a series of fatal traffic crashes. In far too many of these tragedies, those who lost their lives were not wearing seat belts.

We mourn the tragic loss of Baldwin Park Police Officer Samuel Riveros, who gave his life in the line of duty. Our hearts are with his family, loved ones, and the Baldwin Park PD. His courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
