Turns out public school had an actual benefit! It gave imprisoned officers at Colditz an unfair head start in being unbelievably irritating. ‘Knitting during roll call’ … ‘pushing small pebbles around with their noses […] to make the guards ban a pointless and benign activity’

Whether or not parking explains the world, it has certainly ruined much of it.

Just watched this delightfully dorky tribute to the Newton. What a device that was! Testament to a lost era of naively optimistic computing.

a letter to T.S. Eliot from Geoffrey Faber, encouraging him to change his name to Faber so they would be Faber, Faber and Faber, 'and we could look to getting more Fabers after that'.

This has really crapped on my day. I love my v90XC and was really hoping there was going to be a slick electric version soon. Totally gutted. Bye bye @VolvoCarUK

This is why we always want to publish more books @Wonderbly … the top few books give us 80%+ of revenue but we never know which ones they will be in advance despite years and years of research and testing. So we bias to publishing as much as we can as long as quality stays high

Most business experiments do nothing, so many small radical experiments are better than a few big precise ones as they let you quickly screen for possible huge outcomes. Here are the results of many A/B tests at Bing, the top 2% of ideas were responsible for 75% of the gains. 1/

Been living / working in Bloomsbury for a few days now. Feels like a walkable medieval north Italian style city. Loving it. So chill on the weekends. So many little street cafes, bikes everywhere, mini parks, indie shops, not too many tourists. 🌳☕️🚴

Spineless Tory scum coming out complaining about the (valuable) environmental policies they implemented in their 12 years of government - net zero, HS2, LTNs - ‘fighting for you against us’ - pathetic.
