I understand why some stakeholders may advocate for this. But increasing the size of the peloton when current safety standards are already struggling to keep pace with modern racing makes no sense. What are we prioritising—the commercial interests of the sport or rider safety?.

Has anyone considered the opportunity this creates?. For a breakaway league, for example? Sign off-contract riders. Launch races that are safer, easier to broadcast, more accessible for spectators, & built on a sustainable business model. ONE Cycling could seize this moment.
This might sound hyperbolic, but with the Tour de France also disappearing from ITV, it feels like a golden era is over

Smart move here. Professional cycling is an inherently unstable industry. Teams need to explore revenue streams beyond sponsorship to secure longevity. Launching a kit brand that leverages the team's reach and engagement is exactly the kind of strategy worth considering.
