I don’t think I would wish for another ending, in my opinion – that was beautifully written, touching, real and, despite my previous statement, hopeful – in its own way.

On the technical part, I see why some people may feel dissatisfied, because over so any years Hollywood has taken over. We’re used to different kind of endings, that provide us with hope, even if the ending is a sad one.

Maybe we’re all at once. Maybe we always have been. Gi-hun didn’t try to save all of humanity. He didn’t need to. He just chose to be the kind of human the world needs more of. Not perfect. Not noble. Just human. And maybe that’s the only answer we'll get. The only one we need.

It wasn’t hesitation – it was more like a challenge, a question for the VIPs, the Frontman. Because what are humans, after everything we’ve seen? The games revealed the worst of us. Betrayal, fear, greed. But they also uncovered love, sacrifice, resistance.

Where the Front Man believed people are selfish, cruel, no different from beasts performing for a crowd, Gi-hun chose differently. He chose to protect dignity, empathy, humanity. His last words trailed off for a reason.

Squid Game shows us the rot beneath capitalism, and the kinds of people it empowers. Gi-hun’s final act was a refusal – of everything the game stood for.

We can’t change the people at the top unless they choose to change. And most won’t. We are only human – not gods, not heroes. Just people. And people alone can’t fix a system like this. Not without each other. The games go on. And that’s the point.
