I'm legitimately infuriated by ppl who call any interest they have a "hyperfixation"
The word has lost all meaning because y'all keep using it for stuff that you just enjoy.
When does it start being a hyperfixation and stop being a normal interest.

Ppl don't understand why I avoid movies and shows, ppl don't understand why I sound upset when faced with probability of developing a new hyperfixation, they don't understand because hyperfixation is an overused and misused word. It's more often portrayed in a positive light too.

Please remember not to box what does and doesn't qualify as a hyperfixation.
It is ultimately different for everyone. Adding criteria for what makes something a hyperfixation will ultimately just cause discourse and hurt those who simply do not have negative hyperfixations.

Positive hyperfixations exist and that's okay- negative ones exist too. The qualifications for one aren't always negative
I understand being a lil sour that some get positive ones while you get a negative but that doesn't mean that their positive hyperfixations aren't real ones.

If you know what it's like to have an interest and this is much more than that to a hyper or extreme extent, then it is likely a hyperfixation.
The whole point like I said is that hyperfixations are extreme

Personally I think that once it's something you are thinking about CONSTANTLY, then like it's definitely a hyperfixation.
My way of measuring it ain't the end all be all though. That's just how I do it.

A lot of large artist are total dicks.
I don't trust artists with a following over 10k till I like somewhat get to know them n interact with them more.
Most of my experiences with large artists have been poor, one being particularly bad.
