If you plan to carry out a survey from scratch, please don’t just go ahead to put up questions in Google form. Make sure you really understand how to carry out a survey research. Read books, ask questions, get a guide.

Conclusively, don’t beat yourself up or get overwhelmed. As you know, it’s not just about the tool but about what problems you can solve with the tool. Also, if learning a tool does not align with your carer goals, feel free to drop it and focus on the ones that matter.

5. Do light refreshers instead of full practice:. If you can, you can do a simple task with that tool, solving one small exercise can keep things fresh without pressure.

4. Stay connected to a community or fellow data professionals: . Follow updates, newsletters, or creators that work around the tool. Sometimes just seeing posts reminds you of what you know.

3. Replicate your work tasks with the tool you’ve not been using:. So you are actively working with PowerBI for example, try solve the same problem with the tool that you have knowledge of, maybe Python. Solving a problem two ways can help you stay afloat.
