Maryland basketball’s second game day of the season and this one will be a gold rush vs Georgetown. I think everybody’s expecting a close one here. Personally I’m excited to see the Terps and Hoyas on the same court again.

Would like to see some more consistent defense in the second half for the Terps. To their credit Coppin St. hit some tough shots, but you don't want the 363rd ranked kenpom team scoring 32 points in a half against you.

Terps are a lot more willing shooters with David Coit and Isaiah Watts in the lineup. Terps attempted 15 threes in their exhibition win vs. UMBC. They are 8-17 in the first half vs. Coppin St. Coit and Watts combine to go 3/7 from behind the arc so far.

Terps led Coppin State 47-32 at half. Coppin St. is not a good team, worse than UMBC, but the Terps are playing much improved basketball then what we saw in the exhibition game. That stems from the addition of Isaiah Watts and David Coit along with execution.

Terps started the game playing really strong defense. Coppin St. knocked down a couple tough shots and is now finding success driving to the basket. They scored on four straight possessions got fouled on the fifth while going downhill, but missed the free throw.

Coppin St. switched into a zone and it looked like the Terps had no problem attacking in. Got the ball down low to Pharrel Payne who got an easy finish. Terps up 41-27 with less than 3 minutes to go in the first half.
