im way less annoyed by this now thanks to the username change that gets rid of numeric discriminants and instead gives everyone a simple username and you can just type that in instead of waiting for the UI.
as a product manager at discord, it's very important to me that if the user types "from:brob" then the result is something totally useless, and to achieve the desired result they have to type "from:" and the wait for a UI element to appear that will allow them to use the feature.
