Chapel Hill Transit is the second largest transit system in North Carolina and is the public transportation provider for Chapel Hill, Carrboro and @UNC . Since 2002, the buses have been fare free in Chapel Hill, offering more than 6 million rides a year.

@chapelhillgov @UNC Used it all the time when I lived there. Much easier than trying to find parking. Always felt safe and easy to use. Love Chapel Hill transit!

@chapelhillgov @UNC I was excited when this change took place after my 1st year. I canโ€™t imagine what the rest of my time at UNC would had been like if I had the additional worry of bus fare. Now when I visit UNC/CH with my sons, we park and walk or bus to see whatโ€™s new and what hasnโ€™t changed.
