When *this* is what your supposed effort to help people find housing looks like, maybe reconsider your tactics.

If we don't stand up and speak out against this, we participate in normalizing it. This is not normal!

Why are we displacing unhoused folx even further during a global pandemic?
VIOLENT CONTENT. Clashes broke out at Lamport Stadium as City of Toronto staff cleared out a homeless camp. A mini-riot between activists and Toronto Police happened out on King St. when officials tried to move out a shelter box right through the dense crowd. @680NEWS

There's been an awful lot of talk today about how displays like today's attempt to criminalize homelessness, but that's not quite right What @AmyMiranda so rightly points out is that homelessness is already a criminal activity in @cityoftoronto. They're attempting to eradicate us

Residents on social assistance designed a handbook on what to expect from social assistance -- a really good example of empowering service recipients -- it's an insider's guide and I'm so excited for it to be out!!
It's here! Two years in the making – a product of the collective wisdom & creative talents of over 50 social assistant recipients, caseworkers, artists & designers. Free copies available for Toronto-based community organizations: https://t.co/NQuXbh7Spk
