Pinning this in case people are wondering why I'm a bit less active here. Moving to a less all-caps conservative push notification-y site:.

man, @lovable_dev is very cool, but _extremely_ buggy. It hangs all the time, gets slow, doesn't finish stuff, preview server gets stuck on old code, etc. Also the pricing model is wrong - it should be X for hosting and then pay on top for token usage.

Since we wrote some fairly interesting stuff with Claude Code's new hooks, I thought it would be cool to write up how the system works and some cool things you can do. I show how to do a Mac desktop notification when CC stops and how to abuse Git with it.

Claude Code's new hooks system is a powerful tool for automating your agent workflows. We'll do a quick overview of what's possible and explore a few fun examples.

I should also say, I really wish @cursor_ai or @windsurf_ai also had some concept of lifecycle hooks. For things where you want to enhance the agent experience, some more deterministic way to know whats going on can be really useful.

Check it out: run three Claude Code sessions in one working directory simultaneously, get three clean branches, mergable in any order and unconflicting, thanks to @gitbutler

If you're using Claude Code, our latest @gitbutler release has a very cool hooks integration where it puts the output of each session you run into a new parallel Git branch.

Also, as someone pretty nervous about needles, you don’t feel it at all.

Wife and I got Stelo blood glucose monitors (otc CGMs) to help us understand better how our diet actually affects blood sugar levels and day 1 is a fucking revelation. Super fun experiment for those of you wanting to inject a tiny needle in your arm.

Germany understands that things that you clearly need everyday should be exempted from the Sunday closing law - you know, things like flowers, not the much more obscure need for like, food or medicine.

I find it such an interesting lesson in storytelling. It’s not a perfect hero’s journey. It doesn’t even really have a point or lesson. It’s a mental diary entry from an insane day of some group of guys. Stories don’t have to be perfect to be interesting, they can just be real.

It’s not one thing, it’s everything. The fucking boredom of the first third. The indecipherable radio chatter. The insane violence of the IED. The humanity of the SEAL team. The raw pain. People fucking up. It’s so different from every war movie in every interesting way.

Not sure anyone needs to hear this, but if we’re counting by the number of times I think about the broadest range of scenes in a movie for weeks after I watched it, Warfare is the most hauntingly impactful movie I may have ever seen.

Watching a movie on your iPad with a partner and two sets of AirPods: beautifully simple. Watching a movie on your Macbook with two sets of AirPods: MIDI bonded channel hellscape.
