Now this metrics look much more interesting, aurora was active minutes ago and even with some clouds it reliably detected it

As I suspected, now the model is excellent detecting auroras but gets 50-50 between cloudy and clear skies which does not produce a reliable metric to be used. Lets try going back to simplicity and use only 2 classes. this one now scored 98% on the test with 1.9k training images

Now we're talking! The computer can see auroras and understands clouds now! Yesterday managed to push the model accuracy to 86%, and even tho I could probably get higher, would mean more time tweaking and at this point probably not worth it. #OpenSource #Computervision #AI

Now this is something useable! time to shipt it, observe how it behaves!

Why is dogfooding so cool? Using Picsort myself has helped me notice some of its shortcomings, and now new features are coming soon. you will soon be able to exclude images from datasets and export balanced datasets for CV training with validation and testing splits.

Ever since I started my journey with go its so painful every time I have to touch on any python codebase! I feel I spend more time dealing with dependencies, venvs and what not instead of doing what I need to! I used to like pyhton! :(

Here's picsort in action in a real use case and doing exactly what I built it for! Here you can see part of my process of preparing a data set to train the next version of the computer vision model that will automatically detect aurora activity on @thearcticskies video feed!
