On the TWENTY-FOUR(th) January, Rotherham will be transformed into Otherham…. This FREE Winter Light Festival will feature a captivating trail of projections across the town centre, bringing to life a reimagined vision of Rotherham. See Rotherham Town centre like never before!

Today we’ve got a throwback to 2023 when the moon came to Rotherham!. Museum of the Moon visited Rotherham Minster. This wonderful project, led by our partners at Flux Rotherham, drew people in from around the borough. Were you one of the 10,391 people who came to see the moon?

We created TWENTY-TWO animations about the journey of a magical flying car by children at Rotherham Show this year!. Next year we will be working with Into Film, nine schools and over 2000 children to create a brand-new animation.

Have you seen our new traineeships?. We have seven new part-time employment opportunities with four wonderful local organisations, who will work on planning and delivering innovative creative events and projects in 2025. Find out more and apply:

TWENTY-ONE young people aged five and above completed their Arts Award: Explore!. There are five different Arts Awards; Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. We have supported almost 150 children and young people to gain these awards so far.

TWENTY – how many times we’ve watched Clifton Park Museum’s "Gen Z wrote the tour" video… we’re still laughing at it now! Slay Queen…. Check it out on their socials!

We took NINETEEN young people to see Dizzy, a contemporary play based on conversations with young people across the UK. This was just one of our many go-see visits! We’ve taken 185 children & young people to cultural events from pantomime to light displays & been as far as Hull!

We had EIGHTEEN young performers enter the spotlight at Rotherham Show this year on the Children’s Capital of Culture Community stage!. DJ’s, choirs, youth drama groups, bands, and solo artists took to the stage to showcase their amazing talent to the borough.

Twenty-SEVENTEEN is the year it all started!. In 2017, Grimm & Co asked local children and young people what they’d do if they were in charge of Rotherham. These ambassadors created a manifesto that set in motion Rotherham becoming the Children’s Capital of Culture.

Our traineeships are for young people aged SIXTEEN to twenty-five. We work with our host organisations to provide paid, part-time employment to young people which offers practical experience and make sure their voices shape the future of Rotherham.

Our target for 2024 was to work with FIFTEEN schools… we surpassed this number and have worked with over 50! We’re so proud of our team for achieving this. Our target for the festival year is to work with over 100 schools in Rotherham, which will mean over 10,000 young people👏
