Sportsperson of the Year 2025.David Costigan won the Sportsperson of the year award for 2025 in the school. Competition was particularly high with our success of numerous different sporting fields. David added to his collection of medals this weekend with an All-Ireland U20

Old hurling program from 1948 between Munster Colleges and Leinster Colleges. No colleges are named on the program but some people may recognise some of the names. Mr John Stokes uncle was centre forward for Leinster on the day having attended Roscrea Cistercian College.

A number of past pupils and friends of John's had lovely video messages thanking John for his incredible service to the students in the school. Amongst some of the photos taken were John with six of his past pupils currently teaching in the school, the PE dept.

Mr Theo Lloyd recounted Johns time in the school. Ms Mary Lloyd who started in Thurles CBS the same day as John, made a presentation on behalf of the staff as a reminder of his time in the school.
