Our cash bail system is a disgrace that disproportionately hurts Black, Brown and poor Americans. New York did the right thing by reforming its bail law and must not go backwards. When we are in the White House, we will end cash bail nationally.

@cbarrett @mdouseldorff @BernieSanders The problem is the NY legislature didn’t fund any of the things that help make this successful in other jurisdictions, like electronic monitoring and services. Very poorly thought out, and the blowback is likely to undermine the whole effort. Dumb and foreseeable.
