Over the next two years, Hoosier public media stations will lose nearly $9.4 million after federal cuts. Another $7.4 million was lost in state funding. Rural stations are being hit hardest including four losing at least half of their revenue. @indystar .

87% of NPR listeners are Democrats. Ending government subsidies to public media was a good move, and will restore competition/innovation to the industry. Now, the government ought to incentivize public engagement. Read my latest column for @indystar below.

Update: Sen. Young will support the bill that will yank $1.1B of previously allocated federal funds from NPR and PBS. He called the included cuts "appropriately targeted.". When asked his position yesterday, he told @indystar that he was still reviewing the bill.

I plan to support the rescissions package to clawback roughly $9 billion in federal spending. Passing this bill is a small but important step toward greater fiscal responsibility. I appreciate the Administration and Senate leadership working to ensure the cuts are appropriately.
