Beware #martech companies that don't drink their own champagne. 🍾 If they're saying one thing and doing another, that's a huge red flag that the product doesn't work as advertised.

I'm also hearing that some Canadian companies' employee health insurance providers won't cover COVID-19 related claims, so some companies have locked down employee travel altogether until that changes.

If you're serious about targeting an audience outside the U.S., you need to consider these factors and offer comparable, high-quality virtual options. There should be no in-person only events. Hybrid is everything right now.

2⃣Even if we aren't worried about getting COVID-19 because we're fully vaccinated, we are worried about testing positive, being trapped in the U.S. until we test negative, and incurring huge costs for our companies as a result.

Here's an awful trend that I'm noticing: Head of Marketing roles in Canada have lower salaries than Marketing Manager roles in the US right now. 😱. 🇨🇦 startups need to step up their compensation game before all the good marketing leadership talent drains to the US.

Got the first dose of my COVID-19 vaccine at a popup hotspot clinic in my neighbourhood today! It took 5 hours. On a weekday. Grateful to work for a company like @pathfactory that supports its employees in taking the time they need to get vaccinated.
