Linguini with shrimp, artichoke hearts, capers and local tomatoes, oregano and basil. Served with a healthy shave of parmesan cheese. Very comforting dish on a chilly evening.

Leftovers from weekend lake party. Frank's fried chicken (the best in this area), local corn, homemade potato salad and a delicious salad made from spinach, apples, dried cherries, candied walnuts, bacon and goat cheese. Dressed with bacon fat and balsamic vinegar.

Made hash and eggs with leftover mixed sausages. Was very delicious! To me, hash is leftover protein, red bell pepper, onion and potato.

Grilled smoked pork chop, local corn and delicata squash. Smoked pork chops are so tender and juicy, no need to cook, just hit the grill for a warm through and a few grill marks. yum

Boiled Dinner, a summer favorite in Michigan. Corn picked same day, red skin potatoes, mixed sausages from A and A Meats and homegrown tomato (not boiled) . All boiled in same pot.

I simmered corn cobs in water for a few hours. Strained for a nice corn broth. Wished I had crab meat but only had cod loins in freezer. So, I made a lovely corn and fish chowder. It was very delicious and almost as good as crab and corn chowder.

Gotta love my Polish Deli! Black Forest Ham and herbed Havarti with Bacon Jam on bakery Pumpernickel. Served with fermented dill pickles, fresh corn and soup. So very yummy!

Grilled Jerk Turkey Breast Tenderloin. Served with spicy black beans and rice and garlic green beans. The turkey was so tender I could cut it with my fork.

Soft Shelled Crab BLT with homemade potato salad and asparagus soup garnished with parmesan cheese. I used Yukon Gold potatoes, which gave the salad an odd color. Husband and I can't get enough of these crab BLTs!

Leftover red snapper fish cakes were so tasty. I used the standard crab cake recipe and sauteed them in olive oil. Came out way better than I was hoping they would. Weird pasta side dish was also a leftover. So waste not want not.
