VTS - so we make assumptions based on what we see in front of us? - We start to build our own story which may be very different from the person next to us #uxlibs.

Really interested and pleased that empathy and curiosity have been brought up in the context of healthcare in both talks this morning! #uxlibs.

In December 2022 I wrote a post titled ‘Day Sleeper’. It was about my first experiences of working night shifts. Now 18 months on things feel a little different, so it’s time for part two.

I didn’t share my latest blog post on Twitter/X yet, so here it is. Just a little bit about how music can affect us and how we all take a meaning from it. #M83 #outro

I’ve never written about how music affects me, although I have mentioned that’s there are tracks that I don’t like to listen to so much these days. A little while ago I was introduced to M83 by Jar…

With @altontowers and @THORPEPARK ready to open, I thought it timely to re-share my ‘importance of rollercoasters’ post. The boys and I can’t wait to ride Nemesis Reborn and Hyperia! But we’ll be sad to ride with an empty seat where Beth would have been.

I haven’t blogged for a while, I think mostly because I have used the blog primarily for work purposes and the work I’ve been involved in lately hasn’t been something that could be blogged about, …

Yet another blog post, this time about what it feels like to look back on memories, something I do a lot of. Read if you feel like it, scroll on if you don’t, there’s a lot of other stuff to read and writing this just keeps me on track 😊
carlbarrow.wordpress.com
I want to talk about memories. They sometimes seem both a blessing and a curse. They both sooth and hurt. They make you smile and they make you cry. I have a lot of memories, memories from when Bet…

carlbarrow.wordpress.com
I don’t like winter and I never have. I always struggle through it in some way or another. Since I lost Beth the winters have seemed darker and more lonely than they ever were, this winter particul…

It’s interesting how thing change, how family dynamics change, but it’s also interesting how some things stay the same, how people and mindsets stay the same. Things for us changed dramatically thr…

Great theme! To be able to authentically empathise with users of any services is really important. Even now in my new line of work to be able to quickly understand how people feel and what they are going through is so important, but not alway easy #uxlibs.
The #uxlibs Call for Papers is now live and the 2024 conference theme is ‘Curiosity & Empathy’. Find out how to submit a paper at:
