It wasn’t unanimous but the vast majority of councillors supported the Gaza pension scheme motion tonight. It sends a strong message that we don’t want to see pension funds invested in the destruction and suffering in Gaza.
After a short break, council has resumed and we are debating a motion on the conflict in Gaza and Cardiff Council’s pension fund

Our Deputy Leader @joseph_carterUK said Cardiff pensioners would be appalled to see their fund supporting companies linked to death and destruction in Gaza. As councillors one of the few things we can do to help those suffering, is to stop our pension funds being used for this

Our leader @rodneyberman gave a powerful speech talking about the need for us to do something to stand again the awful suffering in Gaza. He warned that the action of the Israeli Armed Forces are escalating anti-semitism here in Wales, making Welsh Jews feel less safe
