some native languages are still spoken till this day and we use it mixed with spanish, like quechua and guaraní. Why do you think every country has their own accents and slangs?
Spanish is not a language of resistance. It's literally the language of your European colonizers who colonized you so hard you forgot what you were speaking before them.

visually, hook's poncho reminded me a lot of quexquémitl (ref es bordatura2020 on ig), which has been across mexico, and with color dyes being able to be found from all sorts of plants and made all sorts of ways (activating charcoal, melting, etc) i think it works (4/5)

just thinking about history, a lot of early "cowboy" types were hispanic/indigenous peoples, from the 1500's vaquero came to describe the people working on spanish ranches built in the "new world" (mostly NDN, mexican, african and spanish men) mexico being acquired in the- (2/5)

- anyone with a glimpse of history can see how untrue it is that indigenous peoples are primitive. Here is the monkey insult article link as promised, I hope we can grow to do better :

As for the “uncivilized” part of the image, it’s even more clear cut as many people believe indigenous people to be lesser than just for lack of connection to the outside world when in reality the Aztecs had marvelous aqueducts and Machu Pichu is a world wonder for its prowess-

- organisms evolve from a single one reinforced the idea of being directly descended from apes. By perpetuating this, it was easier for Europeans to justify horrors such as slavery and colonialism as to them, BIOOC being ape like = less than human (think 3/5th compromise)

- features less alike apes were more desirable and African/indigenous features were deemed more alike apes. Other frames of view included God creating separate human species with people believing Europeans closest to angels and BIPOC closest to apes. Lamarckism’s pov that all-

Charles Darwin’s theory of natural selection made us come to find that apes were the closest relative to Homo sapiens and the idea of humans being descended from them also grew popular. We start the link here. Evolutionists found that while we all came from the same ancestors-

Just so we’re clear, here is an explanation behind the history of monkey as a racist insult, there’s a very nice article I’ll summarize and then link

actually i need everyone to grow more of a conscious especially in regards to racism against latinos and how much more pressing in these times especially with ICE. your actions towards fictional characters do affect real people and desensitize you to actual real peoples struggles
