Sharing with profound sadness that our dear friend & brilliant scholar/filmmaker, Mbye Cham, was laid to rest in Banjul, The Gambia, on Sept 7. WARA has been forever changed by Mbye's work. His loss leaves a huge vacuum in the West African community. Rest in Peace professor.

CAORC is profoundly saddened to share the passing of Mbye Cham at the age of 78. Professor Cham, Professor of African Literature and Film at Howard University, was the Founding Director of the Center for African Studies and the African Studies Program at Howard.
