@Rb__sa @FNBSA When I (FINALLY) spoke to a call centre agent after last week's spam call fiasco and said I was not interested in the product, I thought I'd be left alone. I was wrong. I don't even know if I can safely block this number in case it is also used for non-sales comms @Rb__sa @FNBSA

If you spot the bus you will spot the new CapeTalk logo... and then you can win some cash. How? It's simple: Take a pic of the logo, post it to socials and remember to tag CapeTalk and YOU may get some money. T's and C's apply. #SpotTheBusSpotTheLogo only on CapeTalk,

Final tally - 6 hr 18 minutes to get my new ID in my hand (HOORAY!) Flushed with victory, I charged off to the Traffic Department only to be told I needed my marriage certificate to change my name on my driver's... I was so close. Ya win some. Ya lose some.

Finally made it into the Home Affairs building after just shy of six hours in the queue outside. Staff just told an angry queuer that there's still a chance we won't be able to be helped today. Send positive vibes. It's been a long day.

Still in the queue. Still not even inside the building. But a man who has been in the queue with his family just bought some bottled waters and handed them out to other people in the line. People can be awesome.

Two hours thirty minutes and the queue I'm in (Collections) has moved once, at 9.12am. But there is a couple here today getting married, clutching a beautiful bouquet. It's nice to be reminded that there is some joy that lives at Home Affairs.

An enterprising chap has just wandered past to offer us chairs to rent, though. R5 for 2 hours and R10 for the whole time.

Today I'm attempting the dual horror of Home Affairs and the Traffic Department. Is it possible? Is it sane? 30 minutes at Home Affairs and the queue hasn't moved. This bodes... Poorly.

And I'm done! 1 hr 20 min start to finish, and that's with 30 minutes of system downtime. The appointment bookings (if you can get one!) have absolutely changed the game.

Definitely moving again, just one more person in front of me. Please send prayers and offerings to the Home Affairs system gods.
