Further evidence of the impact of covid-19 on cancer patients. Happy to have contributed to this research and see wider application of our survival models using population-based cancer registrations! Thanks @AggarwalOnc, @icon_lshtm!.
Our results demonstrate the sobering human and economic impacts of cancer diagnostic delay during the pandemic. Resolving this doesn’t require a sticking plaster but a strategic health systems approach to managing and coordinating complex cancer care. Paper 👇.

Further evidence that #Cancer shouldn't be forgotten in 2020! Timely access to treatment is paramount!.
We estimate for each 4 week delay in cancer treatment around a 10% increase in the risk of death. Meta-analysis of 7 cancers. We must continue cancer treatments during the 2nd #COVID19 wave or face a significant rise in avoidable cancer deaths.
