Fear and alarm this morning. There is a big glowing light up in the sky I seem to recall seeing a long time ago....and the lovely comforting rain has stopped. Seriously..its first totally dry day in a LONG time and the sun is shining.

Don't know what has happened to our weather....thats 20hrs pretty well continuous sleet. My most hated weather of all. Been almost all rain, flood and storm since early Jan.

Some morning here. Really dark, heavy rain for around 20 hours so far..and flooding all over the place. LONG detour to get in this morning. Will be checking all the lower lying bee sites tomorrow. Fortunately we got rid of the most 'at risk..ish' spots some time ago.

That's our hotels all booked up for the Beekeeping Show. Still some really good deals out there if not waiting till the very last minute. 21st February in Telford. Denrosa Apiaries for bee farmer equipment needs. Jolanta's queens for our robust yet gentle Scottish raised queens.

All we need to do now is wax fry the boxes and fit the foundation. When they reach the bee farmer who has bought them its just off the pallet and onto the hive. EASY....and good enough quality to last a lifetime.

Another place not far from first....poly Langstroths. 71 here. Syrup all gone. This one decent at 8 seams, bit the hroup are a real mixed bag. Varroa damage.

Some from Friday. First one perfect condensation pattern. Tells me everything. Cluster is wall to wall and abundant stores till spring.

The other two were July nucs...BUT have been subdivided and recovered to 7 seams.

Nice bees too! Jolanta's line 7d/25. Good honey getter and complete pussycats to work with. This nuc on made up late August....queen added 1 week later...so start of Sept.

If I lift the perspex off you can see how spotless they are too.....bodes really well for a very high survival rate. The queen unit team and Andreas have done a great job. Almost no poor ones from 1200.

220 here....and they look great. Hard to see but both have bees in 7 seams...wall to wall. I prefer the one where you cannot see them easily as the cluster is lying lower and the nuc is stores heavy and clustered drum tight
