a similar question i like for eng: “how did the leadership at your previous company organize the team?”. i want to see the candidate was paying attention to more than just the code. i want them to talk about what worked + what didn’t from their perspective. what they’d do instead.
“what do you think of our business model?”. so many candidates can walk through “tell me a time when…” just fine, but have put zero consideration into how the company they’re interviewing to join makes any money. You want to find folks (esp in product) who can think through.

i’m looking forward to a world where technology lowers material need enough that if you want to start a company or create that video game or have a career in art you can do it without thinking twice. more energy, more housing, cheaper food, and abundant ai will get us there.
A Stanford Sophomore floored me with this comment today:. It's easier as a Stanford student to get into YC than get an internship at a reputable company. Everyone knows this and every batch there're Stanford founders who did it because they had no other options.

emojis are out. they're boring. everyone knows the ten good ones. they aren't expressions of your personality anymore. for @alpine4work we've commissioned custom illustrations you'll use instead to react on posts, chats, and more. with a radial picker inspired by video games:
