With an engineering team of 10 using Claude Code we have O(1000) custom subagents touching the codebase in a day. Keeping their context high-signal is extremely important. The noise kills quality.

We recently dropped feature work and spent a week making the codebase as agent-friendly as possible. The returns were immediate and wayyyyy better than I thought. According to @WorkWeave we're up +29% on output/engineer in July even with with lots of PTO.

You don't do YC for the money. You do it because you'll speed up with peers who are builders, you'll reduce your distractions, you'll get more customers, you'll get a YC partner who is your guide for the life of the co, and you increase your chance of product market fit.
