I had no idea. What a bummer... Nelvana was my first steady animation job out of school. I worked as a cleanup artist in the design department on a show called Cyberchase. I spent all day everyday listening to audiobooks and cleaning up my supervisor's design sketches.
Nelvana, one of Canada’s most biggest animation studios has reportedly shut down after 54 years. (1974-2025). Workers are saying the studio has closed down its doors last Friday.

I can't help thinking that with AI making more and more flawless "art" and "music", that we may be entering an age where seeing the rough edges, understanding the process, and feeling the hand of the artist is more valued than polished perfection.

I'm not watching any BTS stuff on the new Mission Impossible until after I see the movie. Last time I spent the whole movie wondering when the cliff jump was coming. Looking forward to seeing what craziness they cook up this time.
