We are very grateful for the Gamekeeper’s swift response and for the ongoing support of all estate staff within our call out area, whose local knowledge and willingness to provide access to hill tracks are invaluable to the team during both training and callouts.

At this time of year, it is especially important to respect the stalking season on the hills, as well as the estate workers who are active there.

CMRT are sad to hear about the passing of Dave "Heavy" Whalley. He was a great help to us for many years and true lover of the mountains. He was respected far and wide and his death leaves a huge hole in Scotland's mountain community.

With 100mph winds and heavy rain forecast on the summits today, we opted for lower elevations for our rigging and casualty packaging training. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to escape the heavy rain and now the drying room is completely full of kit!

They asked lots of interesting questions about mountain rescue and they learned about how mountain rescue teams help people who get into difficulties in the mountains Mac was lots of fun and the kids enjoyed getting to have a go of some of the kit that we use on the hillside.
