Don't understand fascination w/ this "states being allowed to import vaccines". The second wave is nastier precisely because the state ie governance capacity of states has been found wanting. Most states are struggling with medical infrastructure despite a year's lead time. (1/n)
Now that the vaccine emergency is accepted, Modi Govt should relax central control. States should be given the freedom to import already approved vaccines from their own means. Corporates should also be allowed to donate their CSR funds to the states for this.
