In 2019 I was so determined to Do A Grief that I wrote the stages on my mirror near my bed and checked in with them daily to see how I was feeling and if I had made progress toward Acceptance. It's not just a misconception; for some of us it's science-based self harm.

“Just me, melted cheese, and the Thanksgiving episode of ‘Gilmore Girls.’ That’s divine solitude.” @bymariandrew writes about the hidden joy of eating alone and how to finally get comfortable doing it. (via @TheAtlantic in News+) https://t.co/hSBOasrVzg

Perhaps ‘burnout’ didn’t fit quite right because I didn’t feel extinguished. The pathetic little pilot light of hope stayed on, and I suppose I tended it well enough that it ignited the burner yet again. https://t.co/yXfN3xG579

I relate to Mari more than I relate to any other writer ♥️ “Living alone in New York provides a nonstop emotional dance between the splendor of solitude and the affliction of loneliness” Such a beautiful, personal read by @bymariandrew https://t.co/GJzBXopZNg

Sensitive perspective from a hot destination: "The tourists belong as much as I do. Why is it so hard to admit that? Why is there such a mass irritation toward people who just want to visit a particular street? ...They are exactly like us." -@bymariandrew
