I failed miserably in my attempt to save the gasometers of Ancoats/Miles Platting. Earlier this week, the dismantling officially begun. Absolutely heartbreaking đź’”
This morning I read the news that I’ve been dreading. My beloved gasometers along Ashton Canal are going to be ripped down by @nationalgriduk. These are an integral part of Ancoats’ industrial heritage. Is there anybody about that could help me to fight this?

Had a few days away in Hebden Bridge - I promise, nothing to do with Happy Valley, I’ve actually not seen it! What a beautiful town though.

Absolutely disgusting! @SoTCityCouncil have some big questions to answer to here and clearly can’t be trusted to protect our wonderful heritage!
Stoke-on-Trent City Council says this famous statue of Josiah Wedgwood on Festival Park has been removed in an 'operational error'. It’s apologising unreservedly saying it's happened as part of road widening work and is speaking with contractors to understand what went wrong.

On to the next one! Back to the subject of my very first painting back in October. I like to think that I’ve improved quite a lot since then. Incinerator from Michelin roundabout - 30x30cm @GrimArtGroup
It’s been a while since I posted my last painting but here is my third one. I was working on it in November and wasn’t sure if I wanted to add more to it but have decided today that it’s finished! Victoria Mill Reflections - 30x30cm @GrimArtGroup

After posting my first ever painting a few weeks ago, here’s number two, another Stoke scene but this time in oil instead of acrylic. Pot Banks in Hanley - 17.5cmx25cm @GrimArtGroup

Just getting round to looking at some snaps from my New Year’s Day morning walk along the Trent and Mersey canal in Stoke. I must say that my camera was focussed on the incinerator for vast periods of the walk.

The Twitter exodus seems to have gone on the back burner but I reactivated my instagram account after 6 years this morning and have made a few posts. I’m struggling to find people to follow and would be great to see a few familiar faces over there!

A bit of a summer throwback to my trip down to Great Yarmouth in August. If you know me, you probably wouldn’t believe that I didn’t know anything about the gasometer before the trip was all booked. She’s a rusty ole’ girl but what a beauty! @GrimArtGroup

I’m back in Stoke for Xmas so thought I’d take my camera for a spin. It’s been a day full of canals, mills, chimneys and bottle ovens. Here’s Baines in Fenton. @GrimArtGroup

Absolutely loved my snowy walk around Ancoats/New Islington/Miles Platting this morning. The places that I see everyday look even more compelling in the snow ❄️
