Black bear encounter with Windy the feral mare! .Leading us back to camp she stopped, looked & wouldn’t go any further but wouldn’t leave us. You can hear her snorting & when I looked into the thick bush, I saw a black bear walking away. Always trust horse sense!!

Have zucchini that are yellowing & rotting off early? It’s probably because they’re not being pollinated. I pollinate our plants myself. Find a male flower (skinny stem) & open it up rubbing it against the inside of the flower on the zucchini. Done!

BBQ’d chicken legs with a peach bourbon bbq sauce & a hot honey bbq sauce! .It’s also the season for grilled romaine & a homemade caesar dressing alongside some garden beets!

Ospreys make their nests on platform like structures near a lakes abundant with fish. I found this nest in the middle of a mall parking lot as mamma leaves the older chick to go fishing

A whitetail doe leads a coyote away from her 2 fawns. You can hear her blowing to make sure the coyote follows her. A day later both fawns were seen. Mission accomplished.

We did a little fishing & caught a nice brook trout/char cross that they stock the lake with. Lightly smoked it’s really good & just enough for a supper for 2.
