Getting an RFC up before I put up a PR for the @lit-labs/signals package. Copied and edited from the Preact signals RFC.

I made a new Lit demo that shows how updates propagate down a tree. When a parent re-renders, only the children with changed data re-render. Often only a small subset of a large tree has to update.

Components built with different libraries (or none!) can share reactive state w/o having to pick and use a specific signals implementation library. This will unlock an ecosystem of reactive state management, components, & utilities to make building data-driven apps even easier!

🀝 We're especially excited about the potential of standardized signals to bring interoperability to reactive primitives in a similar way that web components brings interoperability to UI components!

Updated my PR to add a TC39 Signals proposal integration for @buildWithLit. I think it's real close now! I've already been using a version of this integration in my own projects, and it's been really great. I'm excited to see how much more we can do!! https://t.co/zBgXjRBik2

lit-html is all you need to solve the biggest problem with JS β€” intelligent DOM rendering https://t.co/BxuakewMMQ You can keep throwing string literal templates at the DOM and it will only update what needs to be updated.
