@ercwl @aztecnetwork @ZkopruNetwork Yep that's fair. There is another stablecoin, far smaller and not nearly as decentralized (yet) called Haven's xUSD. It uses a similar mint/burn mechanism as Terra's UST, but it's a fork of Monero with the corresponding degree of privacy.

7) The Haven Protocol is a fork of Monero that supports the creation of private coins representing both stable & volatile assets. Virtually any asset can be created on Haven Protocol, including currencies and commodities. All of these are private by default. $xAU $xAG $xCNY $xBTC

5) πŸ”΄ Because blockchains like Monero do not support tokenization likeΒ #Ethereum and the alternative to tokenization (Coloured Coins) requires a degree of transparency that is not available on #private blockchains. ℹ️ Great read ⬇️ https://t.co/4NvhL0m5Ue

4) Like i said earlier, it was long thought impossible to create coloured coins. 🟠 Not on the #bitcoin #blockchain. πŸ”΄ And also this was thought to be impossible to do on private blockchains like #Monero.

3) Coloured coins have different operating mechanisms depending on the protocol or the way they are implemented. Remember that a protocol simply means a way of doing things. πŸ”΅πŸŸ’πŸŸ πŸŸ’πŸŸ€βšͺπŸŸ£βš«πŸ”΄πŸŸ‘πŸŸ πŸ”΅ ℹ️ https://t.co/IBa5MaTBKZ

2) The term 🟠"Coloured Coins"🟒 loosely describes a class of methods for representing and managingΒ real world assetsΒ on top of a Blockchain. πŸ”΅ #Coloured coins can be created to repurpose #Bitcoin or #altcoins to create digital assets that represent other things of value.

10) Anne owns 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ XHV with a market value of $2️⃣. She decides to convert all of her XHV to xUSD so (200 x $2 = $400) therefore she receives 400 xUSD. These 4️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ $xUSD will always be redeemable, at any moment, for exactly 4️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ $USD when you convert back to XHV. πŸ‘‡

9) When a user converts from XHV to xUSD, they mint xUSD and burn the equivalent USD worth of XHV. 🟒 This can be simply explained by the example below: πŸ‘‡

8) The Haven Protocol uses what is known as a β€˜mint & burn’ process to convert between all supported assets on the network. Once a person owns XHV, that can then be used as network collateral to convert to any other supported xAsset like $xUSD or $xBTC πŸ‘‡
