We all know that @Amershammuseum is #magic And it really is....these witch marks, carved in the upstairs timbers of our Tudor building, cast a protective spell over it, keeping anything nasty away! #museum30

#OTD 18 November 1910 is known as Black Friday, a flash point in the suffrage movement. This is probably its most famous image, a #photograph of Emmeline Pankhurst. But Amersham resident artist William Monk also depicted the scene - this painting is @LDN_Museum #museum30

Fabulous to explore @V_and_A #storehouse with these two yesterday. Sadly one missing cos of Storm Claudia. But 28 yrs on from housemates @LeicsMusStud #kindness, empathy & sheer silliness (plus wine, chocolate & cake) are still our glue #museum30

I think the most #heavy item in @Amershammuseum collection is the bell from St Leonard's Church, Chesham Bois. It lives in our garden. It rang for 450 years before a crack was discovered in 1933. #museum30

One of my favourite items in @Amershammuseum is this #box of medicines from Haddon's pharmacy, sited opposite the museum building from 1892 to 1966. My #pharmhist background means I'm a sucker for a medicine & this one's a beauty 𤩠#museum30

I love the Penn tiles in @Amershammuseum collection. Dating from the 1400s, and used for royal and church floors, they were mainly made in small villages (Penn, Tylers Green) from local #clay #museum30

These are the #eyes of Marie-Louise von Motesiczky, an Austrian emigre artist whose life became innextricably linked to Amersham. Her trust has provided invaluable support to @Amershammuseum, as well as donating 7 of her paintings. #Museum30
