Wave 7 is here! We made Cascade available on JetBrains IDEs. Now JetBrains developers have access to the multi-step agentic experience that Cascade provides. Oh and btw, we're no longer going by Codeium... everything is Windsurf! 🏄

Seeing some bold AI takes lately that sound more like gatekeeping than insight. Success isn’t a license to belittle others. We should be helping each other navigate change — not celebrating who might get left behind.

Unbelievably impressive. I think programmers are right to have some worry that the world of tomorrow won't need all of them. Illustrators, animators, and cartoonists surely already do. What a time to be alive.

How to be a Principal Engineer/Senior Principal Engineer/Senior Architect/fancy-sounding-title Engineer, a thread: 1. You're evaluated on how much more the company succeeds because you're there, not the lines of code you wrote. If you can unblock someone, do that. If you need to

Consistency. It’s the implicit design goal of any software project, including programming languages. Consistency makes systems simpler, easier to learn, and easier to reason about. Though it’s rarely stated explicitly, it’s almost always desired.
