When bread's on the menu for me, it's always fresh and free of supermarket additives and preservatives. Skipping those helps avoid digestive issues, allergies, and inflammation. Baking was new to me not long ago, but it's a simple, hands-on activity worth the time at home.

Experimented with a bread lame for the first time. The results weren’t what I wanted, but at least the bread tasted good. Both attempts were completely improvised, maybe I should plan. I will definitely try again. Do you use a lame or a knife? #bread #baking

Seeds on top of bread add nutrients like magnesium, zinc, and healthy fats as well as texture. Have you ever made a seeded loaf? #bread #nutrition

The classic crackle of a cooling loaf, called ‘singing’, comes from the crust tightening. #bread #baking

I tried to write "Loaf" on my loaf, but the dough was a little wetter than usual so it was quite difficult. I will master bread scoring! (Thankfully it still tastes amazing!) #bread #baking

Planning to start my first sourdough starter this week. Just flour and water I suppose. Any advice? #sourdough #bread

Bread scoring involves making shallow cuts on the dough's surface before baking. It directs the loaf's expansion, prevents random cracks, and creates attractive patterns. #bread #baking #loaf

The phrase “to break bread” comes from ancient communal meals, where bread was literally broken and shared as a sign of peace and friendship. #bread #history

This loaf wasn’t all perfect, some slices had a larger hole in them. The good thing about baking bread is, even when it doesn’t work out exactly as planned, it still tastes great. #bread #baking #homemadebread

White bread used to be a symbol of wealth. Brown bread meant poverty. Now, people pay extra for wholemeal and seeded loaves. #bread #facts #history

“Brown bread” has no legal meaning in the UK. It can be mostly white flour, coloured with malt, molasses, brown sugar or even coffee to seem healthier. Only “wholemeal” guarantees 100% whole grain. 🍞 #bread #health #nutrition

The earliest evidence of bread comes from 14,400 years ago in Jordan. The Natufians baked flatbreads with wild grains, long before farming began. 🍞 #bread #facts

Supermarket bread is often part-baked and frozen before being “finished” in-store. It saves time, but it skips the slow fermentation that gives real bread its flavour and digestibility. #bread #nutrition #health
