The mayor's name was Modibo Kimbiri, he was assassinated by JNIM between Diabaly and Dogofry on 30 August evening, just 15km away from Farabougou.
As reported by one of my sources, a squad of JNIM 'special forces' assassinated the mayor of the town of Dogofry, Mali, yesterday evening, he was inciting the army to take back Farabougou from JNIM and accused them of treason.

On this attack, ISWAP says they monitor the movements of the Nigerian army, who comes to the Wulgo camp during the day but leaves in the evening, meaning its' left empty during the night likely fearing ISWAP attacks, this image shows one of the vehicles destroyed in the ambush.
